This month we introduce you to Nicholas Hughes, partner in our restructuring and insolvency team. He tells us about who’d play him in a film of his life and what he’d instantly become an expert in if he could choose.
If a movie was made of your life, what genre would it be and who would play you?
It would be a screwball comedy, and I’d love James Stewart to play me.
What book have you read recently and would recommend and why?
Putin’s People by Catherine Belton. She explains what went wrong in Russia in the 1990s and how it lead to what we have now.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
French. It is perpetual embarrassment not being able to speak French beyond the level required to order a steak frites.
What is your favourite grocery item when shopping locally?
Suffolk Gold which is a local Jersey milk cheese.
What part of your job do you hate doing? Why?
Time recording because it’s very boring!
If you were the captain of a pirate ship, what would be the name of your ship?
The Robin Hood.
If you had to delete all but three apps from your smartphone, which ones would you keep?
Hargreaves Lansdown, Airbnb and the Spectator. That way I can keep an eye on share prices, politics and book a holiday at the same time. Perfect!
