Case Study 2

Museums, in common with other leisure charities for which visitors pay an entrance fee, must comply with the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. We have advised such a client on the charging requirements, and its trustees on their role in the management of such organisations.

In addition we have advised on the acquisition and disposal of property as well as sponsorship and fundraising issues. In particular, we advised on the terms of an agreement with professional fundraisers and ensuring that the terms agreed provided the charity with sufficient comfort in respect of the prevention of risk and reputational damage.
