Expert legal advice on corporate and property issues supports purchase of leading Hereford garden centre

24th January 2019

When Pru and Rupert Woods found the ideal new site for their reclamation business, they turned to corporate lawyer Arpinder Dhillon in Wye Valley and real estate lawyer Matt Hayes in Hereford for help. The couple, who own English Salvage Ltd, had originally been looking for a vacant site, but when the opportunity came up to buy a fully stocked Wyevale Garden Centre, just five miles down the road from their original base, they jumped at the chance.

They decided that rather than closing down the Wellington Garden Centre, they would buy the business as a going concern and merge their current salvage business and the Wellington Garden Centre business. They called on Arpinder and Matt to bring their expertise to bear on the purchase because they needed advice both on the corporate aspect of buying a going concern and on the acquisition of the property.

English Salvage Ltd is a high-end architectural salvage and reclamation yard who have been supplying unique pieces to commercial clients including English Heritage, The National Trust, Disney, Fox Films and Ralph Lauren, as well as to homeowners, architects and design professionals, since 2003.

Pru Woods, co-owner and director of English Salvage Ltd, said:

“The team at HCR were professional and helpful at all times. This was a complicated and stressful process, so it was great to have a team on our side who were supportive, caring and at times humorous.”
