Chariots of Fire is back on 18 September and it’s celebrating 30 years!

Runners at the ready – Chariots of Fire is 30! HCR Hewitsons, via its charity, not only organised but also participates in the hugely popular relay race. Teams will be pulling out all the stops in order to achieve, or exceed, the set target of £300 in sponsorship for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity (ARHC), this year’s official charity.

To date, the 1.7 mile annual race has raised almost £1.5million for local charities. £44,527 was raised last year for East Anglia Air Ambulance with over 1,200 runners taking part.

Trustee of HCR Hewitsons charity, Wendy von Niebel said: “Having assisted with Chariots every year since its founding in 1992, I am delighted to be involved once again and raise money for Arthur Rank, which provides quality end-of-life care for the community.

“Arthur Rank is a vital service for families all around Cambridge and we are really pleased that Chariots of Fire will this year support it in providing a stage for local businesses, organisations, colleges and other supporters to join together and raise money for this deserving cause. The solidarity and team spirit during the morning of the race is wonderful and it’s pleasing to see the range of participants from across the local community take part.”

The race starts and finishes on Queens’ Green on Sunday 18 September. Team registrations close on Wednesday 14 September at 5pm unless all 380 teams have registered before that date.
