Cheltenham lawyers show will-ing for Cobalt

7th March 2018

Cheltenham solicitors Harrison Clark Rickerbys are ready and will-ing to raise money for local medical charity Cobalt by giving their time to make wills for people in April, in exchange for a donation to the charity which supports patients with cancer, dementia and other conditions.

The Make a Will scheme runs throughout April, involving solicitors from several different firms preparing simple wills for clients, in return for a voluntary donation to the charity. The suggested donation to Cobalt is £100 for a single will and £150 for mirror wills.

The scheme has raised more than £77,000 in the six years it has been running, and Harrison Clark Rickerbys has supported it from the start. Helen Tomes, supporter relations officer with Cobalt, said: “We’re so grateful for the support of local solicitors with this.

“All people need to do is ring up for a pack or download one from our website www.cobalthealth.co.uk along with a voucher to redeem at the solicitors’ office. They then choose and book an appointment with their preferred solicitor. Clients are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.”

Clients are also encouraged to consider leaving a legacy to the charity in their will – legacies have enabled the charity to fund some life-changing services and equipment over the years.

Alex Taylor, who heads up the private client team in the firm’s Cheltenham office, said “I am delighted that we can support Cobalt again – their support and care play a vital role in people’s lives, often at critical times.”

Cobalt are a medical charity helping people affected by cancer, dementia and other conditions using sophisticated and innovative scanning equipment. If you would like to sign up to the scheme, please contact Katherine Bell on 01242 268 025.
