Client feedback places HCR in 44 top bands of 2023 Legal 500

4th October 2022

The 2023 edition of The Legal 500 was released on 28 September and, following client feedback about the firm, it has been placed with 12 rankings in band one, 19 in band two and 13 band three rankings.

135 individual lawyers have been mentioned in this year’s edition of the legal directory, including 28 leading individuals, 13 next generation partners and 10 rising stars. There are also six lawyers in the hall of fame including Denise Wilkinson, Dominic Hopkins, Richard Knight, Bernadette O’Reilly, Andrew Walker and Kathryn Gilbertson. The firm’s Family team in Northampton is singled out as ‘one to watch’ for the region.

The rankings are based largely on client feedback but also on the firm’s caseload and deals portfolio from the 12 months prior. HCR topped the Experian M&A league table in the UK having advised on 112 mid-market deals in the first half of this year.

In 2022, as a result of growth led by client demand, the firm has recently relocated into prime city-centre locations in both Birmingham and Cardiff, ensuring the firm is even more accessible to clients and is set to move into its new Central England office in November.

Some of the feedback about HCR received from clients, which has helped maintain a large number of the top tier rankings include:

‘It is always encouraging that whatever we ask for, we are always treated as though we are the only and most important client on their books. The partners and staff are very skilled and personable. That’s why we have used HCR for the best part of 20 years.”
