Going from strength to strength in Birmingham to meet client demand, Harrison Clark Rickerbys (HCR) has expanded its private client, construction and banking and finance teams in the city since lockdown.
Partner Laura Banks, along with associate Lisette Macdonald, is boosting the wills, trusts and estates team in the city – Laura, who works extensively with business owners and high net worth clients, is also involved at a global level with STEP, the professional body for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning, of which Lisette is also a member.
Partner Daniel Barchet has joined the construction team; specialising in construction and engineering projects and disputes, he adds his expertise to the firm’s wider team, led by Keith Blizzard in Birmingham. Martin McQueen now leads the real estate team in the city at a time when residential development is on the rise.
Senior legal counsel Khalid Javaid, who has extensive experience in trade finance and Islamic finance, has joined the banking and finance team, along with senior associate Hannah Oseland.
Kevin Harris-James, head of the Birmingham office, said: “To have expanded the team in spite of lockdown is evidence of the demand from clients for what we offer – it has been a busy few months, and we have needed to be flexible and agile in how we work, but I am delighted to welcome Laura, Lisette, Daniel, Khalid and Hannah and to see Martin take the lead for real estate.”
