Expansion in HCR’s international team to meet client demand

28th October 2020

Partner Ajit Mishra, whose experience and expertise in the UK-India business corridor is extensive, has joined Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ international team, which is expanding to meet demand for legal expertise across borders and jurisdictions.

A dual-qualified corporate lawyer, Ajit has a strong track record in corporate and commercial law. He specialises in cross-border foreign direct investment laws and works with both UK and Indian companies both to support their transactions and to advise on potential developments in their interests.

He said: “HCR already have some strong links with India through professional contacts and I’m delighted to be able to support that work alongside Syed Alam here and our contacts in India.”

The firm’s international service operates from five hubs across the world – India, China, the USA, the Netherlands, and the Nordic countries – where it has tried and tested relationships with legal, commercial and government connections. Beyond those hubs, the firm’s network reaches across 80 countries, enabling the team to support clients running their businesses across the world.

Other recent arrivals include Taibo Wang, who joined the team to continue to develop the firm’s strong links with China; he brings both corporate and commercial skills to the team. Khalid Javaid, who has 14 years’ experience working in the Gulf, has also joined the firm’s banking and finance team and will be involved in international work.

Nicolas Groffman, head of the international team, said: “Ajit has a unique understanding of both the UK and India, and their potential for businesses operating in both countries; he is an excellent addition to the team and I very much look forward to working with him.”
