Named as one of the six leading legal providers to the healthcare sector at the LaingBuisson awards, Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ health and social care team are also marking the achievement of deals worth more than £18m in the last two months, as well as welcoming a new team member to support their growing practice.
Led by partner Charlotte Thornton-Smith, the team, including partners Rebecca Leask and Clare Emery, as well as senior associate Helen Higginbotham.
The team, based in Worcester but with a national spread of clients, was among the top six legal advisers for private clients at the LaingBuisson awards last night – Charlotte said: “We were delighted to be finalists – it is the first time we have entered and it is a great endorsement of the team’s dedication and skill.
“We have also had a fantastic couple of months, with deals from across the sector – vets’ practices and dental practices are especially prominent in the list at the moment, but we are glad to be able to support our clients with what are major steps in their lives.
“Bringing Caroline into the team means that we can make sure that all our clients get the same excellent care that we expect to offer, however busy we become. I know that she brings further skills and experience to what we offer, which is always welcome.”
The LaingBuisson Awards are the Oscars of healthcare and social care – now in their 12th year, they recognise excellence and are judged independently and objectively. Held at the Park Plaza Hotel in Westminster, the event is hosted by Gyles Brandreth and attracts about 800 guests. The team won Acquisition International’s award for healthcare’s best mid-market M&A team earlier this year.
The deals includes the sales of six vets’ practices and three dental practices across the country, as well as the sale of Industrial, Medical & Safety Services Limited (IMASS) to leading occupational health and wellbeing providers, Medigold Health Consultancy Ltd. The deal expanded Medigold Health’s service and its geographical spread.
