Leading lawyer joins top-ranked family law team

Recognition of the excellent legal services which Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ family lawyers offer to couples and families across Birmingham and the Midlands has come from the country’s two leading legal directories, just as another leading divorce lawyer joins the team.

Both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners directories acknowledged the team’s expertise as a market leader, with Chambers and Partners recognising Kevin Harris James, head of the firm’s family law team in Birmingham, as a leading individual. The accolades were given just as Andrew Breakwell, who joins the firm having led Shakespeare Martineau’s family team nationally, comes on board. Victoria Fellows is also recognised as a ‘name of note’.

Andrew, who specialises in complex family law issues involving high-income clients, and is ranked among the top family lawyers, brings considerable experience of resolving cases using arbitration and mediation as well as litigation. He is acknowledged in the Chambers and Partner directory as ‘one of the best critical-thinking lawyers in the business’ with ‘encyclopaedic knowledge across all matrimonial disputes and a vast specialist experience in high-value cases.’ Legal 500 call him ‘a national figure in family law.’

He said: “I’m delighted to be joining such a talented team in Birmingham – I think my experience will compliment theirs admirably and I look forward to working with them.”

Kevin said: “It’s great to welcome Andrew, who brings with him a wealth of experience and contacts which will strengthen our team even further. The recognition from legal directories is an accolade for individuals and for our team, but our focus is always on our clients, and I think the team is well-placed to offer them an outstanding service.”
