18th September 2018

The arrival of two new partners and the promotion of another team member have boosted the corporate team in Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ Cheltenham office, attracting top talent.

Tim Ward, who has advised many of the region’s best known companies, brings commercial and practical solutions for fast growing entrepreneurial businesses.

Derek Callanan has spent a number of years working in the region, advising a range of clients from entrepreneurs to large scale plc companies. He has vast experience of dealing with all aspects of corporate law with specific interest in the real estate sector, creating joint ventures between construction companies and property developers.

Derek said: “I love the pressure, tension and risk associated with corporate deal making. I especially enjoy working with developers and landowners, for example, on projects to generate new revenue streams.”

Tim said: “Working within a culture where entrepreneurialism is actively supported drew me into conversations with HCR I didn’t want to walk away from. Those who have worked with me previously will know that I thrive on helping to deliver their goals and providing a great service and I look forward to doing more of this with HCR.

Rachael Reeves, who was promoted to partner in April, has led on recent major deals, including supporting Paragon Banking Group’s acquisition of development finance provider Titlestone Property Finance and its associated loan book and advising the shareholders on the sale of local family-owned business, Micron Group.

Rich Wilkey, head of both the team and the office, said: “Tim and Derek have outstanding reputations in the south west already and Rachael’s focus and skills are now receiving well-deserved recognition, so the team is going from strength to strength.

“We’re proud of our ability to support and advise businesses of all sizes, from entrepreneurial family run companies to large international plcs, and of our approach to costs which means we can focus on building relationships with clients so that we can tailor our advice very specifically for their individual needs.”
