Regulatory presence enhanced in Cambridge by new Partner appointment

18th August 2022

HCR Hewitsons’ Investigation, Regulation and Tax team welcomes the addition of new Partner, Kathryn Gilbertson, who joins the firm’s Cambridge office. Kathryn brings over 30 years’ experience as a regulatory lawyer.

Kathryn’s specialisms range from food safety, health and safety and the environment, including issues such as fire safety. Her extensive work in acting for a range of corporate clients – including assisting an industry association giving evidence to the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry – and as a previous Environmental Health Officer brings unique expertise to the team.

Kathryn is consistently recognised as a ‘leader in the field’ by Legal 500 and her appointment will boost the current specialist regulatory and compliance services across the firm.

Commenting on Kathryn’s arrival, Heath Thomas, who heads the team, said: “The depth and range of Kathryn’s specialist knowledge built over 30 years advising on incident investigations, working as a health and safety inspector for various councils and acting for in-house counsel, will be invaluable to clients.

“I’m delighted to have Kathryn join our Cambridge office, as a result of client demand in the region; her appointment will bolster the team’s local and national offering and we are excited to see what lies ahead.”

Kathryn said: “Working with HCR Hewitsons will bring unique opportunities for clients in Cambridgeshire and beyond who come to us with regulatory compliance matters, as a safe space to talk. I look forward to being a part of an established team.”
