Taking on the challenge of new tech with a stronger team

Cutting-edge lawyers have joined Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ tech law team as the firm boosts its team to offer innovative solutions to their blockchain, cryptocurrency, IP and technological challenges.

Dan Hyde, who wrote the first UK text books on cybersecurity law and the international regulation of blockchain, has joined HCR’s London office, while Georgia Shriane, who has written widely on intellectual property and the implications of technological advances, has joined the firm’s Thames Valley office.

Dan, a partner, has advised a wide range of bodies and individuals, including the UK Law Commission and global mining and oil companies, focusing on practical and commercial advice to deal with innovative and fast-moving technological developments. He has authored and co-authored several books, on cybersecurity, blockchain, cryptocurrency, data security and modern financial regulation and is Visiting Professor of Law at Queen Mary, University of London.

Senior associate Georgia works with clients who need advice to take them into new areas of business, from software developers and consultants or website developers to major public utilities and retailers. She has written on smart cities and European copyright issues as well as on data protection and ownership.
