Partner, Real Estate Disputes Dispute Resolution

About me

Working in real estate law means I work with my clients to help them achieve something tangible; usually something which is very often of considerable importance to them, whether they are individuals or companies.

Clients are welcome to contact me for an ‘off the clock’ discussion at any time – I always make myself available, even out of office hours. I’ll always provide a forthright, honest assessment of your case as early as possible, allowing you to make informed decisions.

With over thirty-four years’ experience in dispute resolution of which twenty-three years have been spent specialising in the field of Real Estate litigation, I have worked with a range of commercial and residential investment companies, developers, landlords, tenants, business owners and individuals. My specialisms include business and landlord tenant law, property rights, restrictive covenants , land disputes, service charge and rent disputes to name a few!

"Extensive knowledge" and "conscientious work ethic" leads to client testimonial

“Having struggled for several years to deal with a contentious property matter due to inexpert legal advice, we were referred by developers to Gary for his ability as a property litigator. Thanks to his expertise in his field and to his extensive knowledge of proceedings, we were guided to success in our Application to the Lands Chamber in the High Court. Gary provided comprehensive advice throughout, kept us informed at every stage of the case, also keeping costs on schedule. He has a conscientious work ethic and we would not hesitate to recommend Gary’s services to anyone needing property litigation advice."

Top Tips & FAQs

Discover my top tips

From the outset provide your solicitor with all information relevant to your case. Don’t hold anything back and be frank about what you want to achieve – only that way can we properly advise you.

If you don’t feel confident in your solicitor, you should feel comfortable in finding another who is more suited to your needs.

A case almost always benefits from a good chronology of events supported by relevant documents collated in date order.

My frequently asked questions

If I tell you something confidential, will you tell the other party’s solicitor?

No, whatever you tell me stays with me and will not influence how I manage your matter.

How long will my case take to resolve, and how much will it cost?

Predicting the length a case will take to resolve, especially if it involves an application to court or tribunal, is very difficult. However, I will regularly provide updates on both timings and costs.

Will I get costs paid by the other side?

The answer varies depending on the type of case, but if court proceedings are involved and you win, you will usually receive approximately 60%-70% of your incurred legal costs if the losing party has sufficient funds to pay you.
