As a commercial lawyer, I enjoy getting to know clients’ businesses and learning about the markets in which they operate. Whether I am helping clients to manage risk, navigate regulations, or put in place a commercial agreement, I know that I can make a real difference to their business.
My particular area of expertise is competition law. After training with a magic circle firm in London, I spent much of the following decade in Brussels, advising on EU & UK competition law and representing clients before the European Commission and Courts.
I work with a wide range of businesses, from SMEs to multinationals, across a variety of industries ranging from IT and electronics to media and manufacturing.
Give your legal adviser as much information as possible so that we can give you the most comprehensive advice from the outset.
Competition law is not just another bunch of rules and regulations with which companies have to comply. You can also use it proactively to protect your business when competitors are behaving improperly or to defend your position in a negotiation.
Do we really need to bother with a contract?
This obviously depends on the context. But contracts don’t have to be long, complex documents hashed out through adversarial negotiations. A short, simple agreement in plain English can avoid future disputes by ensuring that all parties know where they stand from the outset.
