I specialise in financial matters in divorces that involve international elements, businesses, pensions, property, tax and liquidity issues. I also specialise in financial provision for children in cases where the parties are not married.
I have been told I have the empathy clients need at what are often difficult times. I’m quick to grasp the facts and tenacious about putting forward and safeguarding my clients’ positions. I am a former Special Police Inspector and I find this experience invaluable when assessing matters where there are alleged criminal elements. And as one of the few Asian male solicitors in family law, I understand the cultural nuances involved in family law and I am an expert in Islamic marriage (nikah) and divorce (talaq).
My day-to-day work involves advising and representing clients in relation to children: contact disputes, obtaining contact orders, progressing contact and seeking the appropriate directions to prevent contact. I have experience in dealing with cases involving leave to remove a child from the jurisdiction and relocation cases, both within the United Kingdom and internationally. I prepare pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements for the prevention of future disputes, as well as cohabitation agreements. I also deal with injunction proceedings, including freezing of assets, non-molestation and occupation orders.
Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
