Property law offers an interesting variety of work, with transactions often requiring working with various other teams. I enjoy the interesting insight I get into other practice areas while working in real estate, for example planning, construction, banking and charities.
I provide practical, commercial advice that’s tailored to each client, and I work with a wide range of people and organisations, including landowners, lenders, investors, landlords, tenants, government bodies, charities, companies, and private individuals
My work involves helping them to buy and sell freehold and leasehold commercial property, plus the various associated work, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and leases. I also work with lease management and ancillary lease documentation, and carry out financing and re-financing work for lenders and borrowers.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and the mountains, travel, yoga, and cooking/baking.
Negotiate early with the other side and invest time in compiling a good set of Heads of Terms to flush out any potential issues or dealbreakers before substantial time and money has been incurred.
Keep your solicitor abreast of all developments/communication/documentation with the other side.
Clarify anything you’re unsure about with your solicitor before entering into any binding agreements.
How long will this take to complete?
I will do my best to progress this quickly, but much will depend upon the other parties’ solicitors, their response times and quality of the information they provide etc.
