I have a passion for sport so sports law was a natural choice for me when I had the opportunity – I am on the front line of sports business and I give clear, practical and commercial advice to professional sportsmen and women, clubs, sports agencies and businesses, both in the UK and internationally.
This is a specialist area and I need to be available around the clock for my clients – the combination of my experience, reinforced by my personal interest, and my understanding of commercial motivations means that I’m ideally placed to advise often high profile people. I’m happy to share my 15 years’ experience as a sports lawyer through webinars and guest lecturing.
Outside work, as well as sport, I enjoy relaxing in the Cotswolds.
Engage me as early as possible in the transaction; I can add value from the start.
Consider me more than just a lawyer.
Be alive to change – sport is a rapidly changing sector.
What is it like being a sports lawyer?
Exciting, challenging, rewarding and, if as I do, you love sport, the best job in the world
What exactly is sports law?
My simple definition would be ‘a combination of laws which apply to sport as played by the participants and the interaction of the commercial interests of businesses. It involves contract, tort, agency, commercial, employment, IP and many other legal topics.
