When Mr D’s wife died in 2021 he required help with getting probate for her estate. He turned to Private Client Associate Jamie Davies for guidance, advice and understanding. Jamie provided assistance with the administration of the estate, obtaining probate and assisting with matters until the estate’s conclusion.

Mrs D’s will included a discretionary trust; Jamie advised Mr D on the options available to him. Following this advice, Mr D instructed Jamie to provide assistance with restructuring a trust from a discretionary one to a life interest one, and adding his children as trustees. Jamie also provided assistance with registering the trust on the Trust Registration Service.

Lastly, Jamie’s client wanted to make amendments to his will, and spoke to him about how to go about doing that. Jamie guided him through the process as well as providing initial advice around gifting assets.

Following completion, Mr D said: “I should like to thank you for your care and diligence in making sure that everything is in order.”
