0-3 PQE Solicitor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Dispute Resolution Solicitor to come join our team in Cheltenham.

As a Solicitor you will need to have

  • Qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Looking to specialise in Dispute Resolution
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and successfully manage client relationships
  • Ideally, you will have done a seat in Dispute Resolution during your training contract
  • Can demonstrate teamwork and relationship building skills
  • Must strive to provide the highest levels of service to clients
  • Ambitious and organised with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Be willing to embrace marketing and business development opportunities – have an excellent academic record

  • Working Hours : Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm
  • Location: Cheltenham
  • Duration: Permanent

Role of a Solicitor

Service and Standards

  • Understands and meets the Firm’s and Regulator’s standards
  • Sets realistic expectations and ensures that they deliver against agreed actions
  • Takes ownership and strives to resolve client concerns
  • Prioritises and manages time to ensure objectives are met to specified timescales

Relationship Management

  • Communicates effectively to assess needs and manage expectations
  • Demonstrates an understanding of how the different parts of the wider team work together and ensure own work is in line with the direction of the team
  • Remains calm in difficult or awkward situations and is aware of where to seek appropriate advice and/or support
  • Obtains relevant information through effective use of questioning and active listening

Financial Contribution

  • Has and is able to achieve a billing target
  • Understanding of financial matters relating to own work – e.g. billable hours, WIP, Write Off” time
  • Suggests ideas for increasing fees
  • Applies the rules of professional conduct to accounting and financial matters

Marketing the Firm

  • Seeks opportunities to network in order to promote the Firm
  • Consistently tries to improve the service we provide through own actions
  • Understands the impact of own behaviour and how this can affect the reputation of the Firm

Technical and Legal

  • Understands legal concepts and can explain them clearly to others
  • Seeks out/ makes use of opportunities to develop knowledge of chosen practice area
  • Uses multiple sources of information to make effective judgements
  • Able to undertake some file work with limited supervision
