This is a fantastic time to be joining Harrison Clark Rickerbys. Having grown exponentially over the last few years, we are now more than 560 strong with 9 offices across the UK.
We are looking for an Associate to come and join our Wills, Trusts and Estates Planning team here in Worcester.

As an Associate – Main purpose is

To lead on all matters and work allocated to them to a standard expected for the corresponding level of experience and qualification held by the post holder. To work independently on matters seeking expert and/or external advice where appropriate.

Role of an Associate

Service and Standards

  • Operates personally to very high standards of accuracy paying appropriate attention to detail
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring more junior team members understand and meet Firm’s and Regulator’s standards
  • Brings best practice to the attention of the team; encourages sharing of new ideas
  • Understands and responds effectively to clients’ specific needs, objectives, priorities and constraints

Relationship Management

  • Successfully supervises and trains others in the basic concepts relevant to practice area and delegates tasks appropriately
  • Regularly interacts with clients and colleagues and builds trust which fosters ongoing relationships
  • Shows empathy and consideration towards others with whom they interact
  • Regularly assesses, communicates and manages risk

Financial Contribution;

  • Understands and reflects on the practical and commercial implications of legal advice given
  • Keeps up to date with commercial developments within and across the industry
  • Achieves and maintains a billing target of £180K
  • Demonstrates an understanding of business commerce and finance at a Departmental level

Business Development and Marketing the Firm

  • Utilises own network and contacts to generate new leads
  • Shows initiative with regard to marketing and is not afraid to suggest and try new ideas
  • Actively participates in a range of departmental and firm-wide marketing activities and events

Technical and Legal

  • Experienced in and confident in applying all basic legal principles within practice area
  • Ability to complete files (from start to finish) with minimal supervision
  • Keeps up to date with developments within the law and shares knowledge with others
  • Able to advise clients on most matters within practice area independently
  • Able to draft documents from scratch as well as using appropriate precedents
