Agriculture and Estates Partner’s expertise from purchase of farm utilised in later sale

When the owners of a large Northamptonshire farm wanted to sell their farm to relocate, they spoke to Stephanie Dennis, Partner in our Agriculture and Estates team. Stephanie had acted for the family’s farming partnership when they acquired the farm five years prior, and has stayed as their retained solicitor ever since.

The farm, which comprised 3 dwellings, farm buildings, a farm shop and 300 or so acres of land, was sold in two parts- the main to an offshore company and a small field to a neighbouring landowner. Stephanie negotiated the documents with two sets of solicitors, exchanging the contract for the main part of the farm just before the government budget in Spring 2023.

This led to a successful sale, with the client instructing Stephanie on a further purchase following the sale.
