International Women’s Day – Cardiff

The theme for this year’s annual celebration is #AccelerateAction.

Having recently launched our Sports, Media and Entertainment sector, we will be joined by a number of inspirational women who excel in this field. They will be sharing their stories of how they have accelerated action throughout their careers, including insights from sports journalist and TV and radio presenter Frances Donovan, and trainee solicitor and Worcester City Women Football Club striker Olivia Mitcham.

• Frances Donovan – Fran is a journalist and presenter. Known primarily as a host of sports programmes for BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 4 and Channel 5, she’s anchored coverage of the Rugby World Cup, the Olympics, Premier League Football, the Euros and BBC Sports Personality of the Year amongst others. Away from work, Fran is a supporter of various animal welfare organisations and is chef, butler and chief entertainments officer for her two rescue dogs!
• Olivia Mitcham – Olivia is a trainee solicitor at HCR Law. Alongside her budding legal career, she is a striker for the first team at Worcester City Women Football Club. Olivia was an instrumental part of the team that secured them a recent promotion to the FA Women's National League Division 1 Midlands (Tier 4). As one of the few independently owned and female-led women's football teams, the club leverage football as a force for good by empowering girls and women to break through barriers on and off the pitch.

As well as hearing from our speakers, there will also be a Q&A session and the opportunity for networking during breakfast.
