International Women’s Day Cardiff

The theme for this year’s annual celebration is #InspireInclusion.

We will be joined by a number of inspirational women who will be sharing their stories of how they have inspired inclusion throughout their careers, including insights from Career Strategist and Coach Aimee Bateman and Forensic scientist Abi Carter.

  • Aimee Bateman– Having worked in the career development space for 20 years, Aimee founded the award-winning e-learning company Careercake. Raising significant venture funding across two continents, Aimee scaled the company and her inspirational careers courses supported more than 10million professionals in over 42 countries, before it was successfully acquired in 2022. In addition, Aimee’s career courses have been completed by over 3 million learners on the LinkedIn Learning platform and she now spends her time coaching and supporting ambitious professionals to feel seen, heard and valued in their careers. Aimee has a particular interest in imposter syndrome and its powerful impact within the workplace and regularly draws on her own experiences to share her insights on how to overcome self-doubt.
  • Abi Carter – A Forensic Archaeologist by profession, Abi originally trained to investigate international human rights violations before setting up her forensic consultancy business in 2008. Driven by supporting those who do not have a voice she has worked tirelessly with Ministers of Wales to make change nationally and across the UK. Abi is particularly interested in the topic of displaced and missing persons from international conflict. Abi worked on evidence from the mass graves associated with the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is Co-Chair of the Wales board of the charity Remembering Srebrenica. Her dedication for this work has been recognised by Chwarae Teg at the 2019 Womenspire awards.

After hearing from our inspirational guests there will be an opportunity to join us for some light refreshments and networking.

Please watch this space as more inspirational guests will be announced before the event.
