HCR Law’s Northampton colleagues have been giving back to charities and communities through fundraising challenges, sporting events and initiatives, including raising £6,771 for PASIC.
From taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks to getting on their bikes for Cycle4Cynthia, our colleagues have been giving their time, energy and enthusiasm to causes that make a real difference.
Taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks for PASIC
One of the biggest challenges of the year saw colleagues from our Northampton office join businesses, community groups and individuals to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
Covering 24 miles, three summits and more than 5,000 feet of ascent, it was no small undertaking. The challenge supported PASIC, our Northampton office’s nominated charity, which provides support to children and young people living with cancer and their families.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks has been part of a much wider programme of fundraising for PASIC. Colleagues have also got involved through activities including a bake sale, car boot sale, World Cup sweepstake, Spartan obstacle run, kickboxing and badminton. Together, the recorded fundraising activities have raised £6,771 for PASIC.
The office tuck shop has also continued to be a popular way for colleagues to support fundraising activity.
Getting on our bikes for Cycle4Cynthia
Our Northampton colleagues were also among those taking part in this year’s Cycle4Cynthia, the flagship fundraising event for Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity.
Since 2003, the event has raised more than £800,000 to support palliative care for patients and families across Northamptonshire. This year’s ride was particularly special as it formed part of the hospice’s 50th anniversary celebrations, with participants cycling through the Northamptonshire countryside before coming together for a family-friendly finish at Holdenby House.
Our colleagues were pleased to get involved and support an event that continues to bring together cyclists, volunteers and supporters for an important local cause.
Alongside Cycle4Cynthia, Northampton colleagues have also supported Maggie’s and Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity through other fundraising activities during the year.
Northampton takes on Chariots of Fire
Colleagues also travelled to Cambridge to take part in Chariots of Fire, adding Northampton representation to the charity relay event.
Flying the flag for Northampton were Brad Gilding, Hila Habibi, Joanne Gilding, Alexander Mayo, Emma Rolfe and Phil Thomson.
Their involvement was another great example of colleagues supporting charitable activity beyond their own office and getting behind initiatives taking place across the wider firm.
Making a difference together
What stands out across all these activities is the variety of ways colleagues have chosen to get involved. From major physical challenges to bake sales, sporting events and everyday office fundraising, there have been plenty of opportunities for everyone to play their part.
With £6,771 raised for PASIC through the recorded fundraising activities, alongside ongoing support for Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity, Maggie’s and other causes, it has been a busy year for our Northampton colleagues.
A huge thank you to everyone who has taken part, donated, volunteered or supported these activities. It’s that collective effort that helps us continue to make a positive contribution to the charities and communities around us.
