Caroline Bird

Chartered Legal Executive

Why choose me

I experienced the impact of social housing firsthand when my nan lived in a warden-controlled scheme. Helping clients to house older people, whether in crisis or not, gives me a great sense of purpose and I’m passionate about reducing the stigma around social housing and retirement living – especially to my generation.

I have broad experience in advising registered housing providers, housing charities and private retirement living developers. Recent projects include rectifying OPSO leases to ensure compliance within a village and acting on the sale of 72 retirement living apartments, both outright and shared ownership.

My specialisms include property acquisitions and disposals, shared ownership sales and site set-ups, whether for registered providers or private developers. I also advise on general property matters, such as deeds of variation and lease extensions.

Experienced in both volume and bespoke instructions, I think creatively to help clients solve problems – whether that’s with legal documentation or practical, on-the-ground support.

As a lawyer, I’m proactive, approachable and highly organised. I set high standards for the advice I give and the service I offer. I take time to understand my clients and their working environments, and I go above and beyond to meet tight turnaround times. I’m always happy to pick up the phone.

Outside of work, you’ll find me Strong Woman training in the gym, at live music concerts or spending time with my family, friends and the zoo of animals we share between us!
