Why choose me
I am a Legal Director in the Insurance, Risk and Regulatory team, specialising in contentious health and safety matters. I work with companies, directors, public bodies and individuals facing investigation or prosecution by the police, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and local authorities, often following serious or life-changing incidents.
I regularly support clients dealing with fatalities, serious injuries and alleged breaches of health and safety law across a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, construction and entertainment. I understand how challenging these situations can be and focus on providing clear, practical advice from the outset so clients feel supported and in control.
Building strong relationships is central to how I work. I collaborate closely with my clients and engage constructively with regulators to achieve sensible, balanced outcomes. At the same time, I am a determined advocate, committed to protecting my clients’ interests and exploring every possible avenue to reduce risk and potential penalties if prosecution follows. My experience in managing complex investigations means I can quickly identify and secure the key evidence needed to build a strong and persuasive case.
I have a particular focus on gross negligence manslaughter cases, representing individuals in some of the most serious and sensitive matters, including at trial. I am passionate about guiding clients through the criminal justice process with clarity, care and empathy at what is often an incredibly difficult time.
In addition to health and safety work, I advise on regulatory driving matters, inquests, public inquiries and safeguarding investigations, and represent clients in interviews under caution conducted under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE).
With more than 10 years’ experience in this area, I bring both technical expertise and a calm, pragmatic approach to help clients navigate complex and high-pressure situations with confidence.
