Jayne Offer

Consultant

Why choose me

I’m a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD with more than 30 years’ experience in HR within commercial and private sector organisations, including the education sector.

Having worked in the independent schools sector for the past 21 years – both as director of HR at a leading boarding and day school and as a governor of a prep school – I understand the people challenges that headteachers and their teams face. I work closely with school leaders to achieve the best possible outcome for the school and for the individuals involved.

I provide early, pragmatic support to resolve staff issues before they escalate. My approach focuses on finding workable solutions within the legal framework, balancing the needs of employees and employers.

I specialise in employment legislation, ISI and educational compliance and managing organisational change, including restructures, redeployment and redundancy programmes. I’ve introduced new pay structures and other initiatives to help schools navigate the financial pressures the sector faces today.

I’ve also served as a team inspector with the Independent Schools Inspectorate. My experience includes supporting schools through increasing inspection demands and ensuring they remain compliant.

I’m a qualified ACAS mediator and Independent Panel member and I support clients with dispute resolution, settlement agreements and Employment Tribunal matters. I also train managers in safer recruitment, employee relations, safeguarding awareness, sexual harassment in the workplace and essential employment law.

Outside work, I’m a competitive triathlete and runner, and I enjoy spending time in Spain.

Questions my clients ask me

With more than 480 staff to support, it was a demanding environment but incredibly rewarding.

I look at each situation on its own merits and take time to understand every perspective before reaching a resolution.

Mostly, but sometimes thinking outside the box can result in a better outcome for all.
