Siobhan Sibley

Senior Associate

Why choose me

I help people plan with confidence for the future and navigate life’s more difficult moments, whether that means putting clear wills and trusts in place or guiding families through the administration of an estate after a loss.

I advise high net worth individuals and families, including farming families and business owners, on trusts, succession planning and estate structuring. I also act for trustees and executors on trust and estate administration, advising them on tax compliance and reporting, and on distributions.

My work spans wills and estate planning, capacity planning and probate. Having worked in both legal and tax environments, I bring a broad perspective and well-rounded advice.

I take a proactive approach, spotting potential issues before they arise. No two clients’ situations are the same, so I take the time to understand what matters most to each of them and tailor my advice accordingly.

Empathy and sensitivity are at the heart of how I work. I want clients to feel at ease discussing personal matters and asking questions, and I pride myself on building strong, lasting relationships and being there when it counts, particularly following a bereavement.

Outside work, I enjoy making the most of the outdoors, whether completing long-distance charity hikes, camping or travelling around Europe in my campervan. I also play netball.

Questions my clients ask me

A range of planning options may be available depending on your circumstances, including gifts, trusts and the use of available allowances. These may help to reduce your exposure to inheritance tax.

A trust is a way of holding assets for the benefit of others. Depending on your objectives, it may be a useful way to protect wealth, manage tax or support family members.

Timescales vary depending on the complexity of the estate, but probate and estate administration typically take between nine and 18 months to complete.
