Timothy Williams

Solicitor

Why choose me

Agriculture is a unique industry. Coming from the industry myself, I provide practical, commercially focused and cost-effective legal advice that’s tailored to each client and delivered in a timely way.

Farming has always been my passion. I live and work on a multi-generational mixed farm in the Cotswolds, where we’re adopting regenerative practices, growing our beef enterprise, enrolling in new agri-environment schemes and diversifying the farm.

I use the knowledge and experience I gain at home to support clients facing many of the same opportunities and challenges. I advise on easements, assignments and surrenders of agricultural tenancies, overage agreements, property sales and purchases, tenancy agreements, first registrations of land, adverse possession claims and family farming partnership agreements.

My clients include landed estates, land-based charities, owners and tenants of mixed family farms, amenity landowners and equestrian landowners.

I know that matters requiring a solicitor can be stressful, so I explain complicated legal points in plain English and clearly set out the options available. I think ahead, raising points clients may not have considered and identifying potential issues before they arise. I also make myself available by phone or in person at times that work around my clients’ schedules.

Outside work, my wife and I are restoring and modernising our period Cotswold farmhouse, which has involved learning all sorts of building techniques. I also love travelling with my family and, as our children get older, introducing them to field sports, skiing, diving, downhill riding and other adventure sports.
