Sink or Swim: A Sector Update for Independent Schools

21 January 2025 09:00 - 13:30

Thames Lido, Napier Road, Reading, RG1 8FR

With a new school year well underway, it’s a particularly complex time for independent schools  as we await clarification on numerous issues in the October budget as well as HMRC guidance.

To help navigate this ever-evolving landscape and deal with any changes that might impact schools, please join us for an update event in January.

The morning event at the Thames Lido in Reading will focus on three key areas currently affecting the sector:

  • The introduction of VAT on school fees
  • Employment law changes as a result of the new government and staff restructures
  • Sales and collaborations between schools.

The event will be led by our Education team, with talks from Kristine Scott, Oliver Daniels, and Rachel Parkin.

You will also receive guidance and support from trusted advisors, including:

  • Robert Warne, Partner and Head of VAT, Crowe
  • Philip Watkins, Partner, Restructuring Advisory, FRP
  • Duncan Murphy, Director of Education, MTM Consulting.

Breakfast and a light lunch will be provided, and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and network.

We look forward to seeing you there.
