Is there any chance I will be paid by the Liquidators of Carillion?

26th January 2018

This will depend upon whether the Liquidator has agreed to continue with the relevant contract.  In certain public services contracts where those services need to be provided, the Liquidators have agreed to pay for those services to be provided, but you will need to agree terms with the Liquidator.

For non-public services related contracts, and where there is no developer or other party (such as a joint venture party with Carillion) who is continuing with the contract, the prospects of payment look bleak.

If Carillion has a potential claim against you, the Liquidator may pursue this as they have a duty to get in all monies due.  Therefore, this is why you need to carefully consider whether you can terminate your contract with Carillion and/or legitimately put together a claim against them.
