Debt recovery for unpaid care services

A former care home provider approached HCR Law to recover outstanding payments for care services. The client had previously instructed another firm of solicitors to resolve the matter, but after limited progress, HCR stepped in at pre-action stage.

Although the amount owed wasn’t disputed, liability was contested between multiple parties, which added a layer of complexity to the case.

Our Healthcare Regulatory team reviewed all relevant documentation and correspondence exchanged to date. We then drafted pre-action and ultimatum letters to the proposed creditors.

Thanks to the persuasive nature of our pre-action correspondence, the client received a settlement offer from the proposed creditors. Our team successfully negotiated further on their behalf, securing a more favourable settlement. This agreement covered the full debt and a portion of the costs.

This outcome enabled the client to recover the entire sum while avoiding the time, expense and uncertainty associated with litigation.
