Fun, fundraising and fierce competition at HCR Charity Netball Tournament

14th July 2023

Harrison Clark Rickerbys hosted an afternoon of fun, fundraising and fierce competition at their annual Charity Netball Tournament on 12 July raising £2754 for local worthy causes.

14 teams from different organisations and businesses took to the netball court and battled it out to be crowned champions. Not even the occasional downpour of rain could dampen the competitive spirit! The money raised will be split between the Cheltenham office chosen charity partners: The Nelson Trust, Pied Piper Appeal and National Star College.

HCR’s own team, HCR Hot Shots, gave a fantastic performance and made it all the way to the final. Taking home the lesser desired prize – the wooden spoon – was Family Lloyds by your side.

To refresh the competitors, they could tuck into a delicious buffet, provided by the Sober Parrot Café which is the not-for-profit café run by The Nelson Trust, indulge in tasty treats from an ice cream van, and purchase a variety of snacks from the HCR tuck shop. To round off the evening, a prize raffle was drawn, with all donations going towards the nominated charities.

Krissy Scott, Partner and Head of Cheltenham office at HCR, said “It was great to see so many local businesses and organisations come together, in the name of raising funds for local charities and to have fun doing it. I am delighted we were able to raise such a fantastic amount of money. The community (and sporting) spirit in Cheltenham is strong! We are looking forward to holding the event again next year.”

Thank you to everyone who entered a team, donated or showed their support by coming along to cheer on the players.
