Trio of awards for HCR Hewitsons at Cambridgeshire Law Society Awards

HCR Hewitsons have brought home three awards at this year’s Cambridgeshire Law Society Awards – including Law Firm of the Year, the Lifetime Achievement Award and Trainee of the Year.

The awards, which are open to law firms across Cambridgeshire, were hosted at the prestigious King’s College, University of Cambridge and celebrated legal excellence across the region.

HCR Hewitsons’ position as a disruptor and innovator in the market was reflected through winning the Law Firm of the Year award for the second consecutive year. The accolade follows recent strategic appointments; Julia Hutchings joined as a Partner in the Residential Property team and Amy Walpole as a Partner in Family Law team.

The ceremony’s Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Consultant Simon Biggin for his work in Dispute Resolution, who saw his expertise rewarded having spent over 35 years at HCR Hewitsons helping businesses and individuals decide on strategies enabling them to move forward. The Dispute Resolution team were also highly commended in the Litigation Team of the Year category.

Alice Moylan, a trainee in the Commercial team, won Trainee of the Year, with Commercial paralegal William Hall being highly commended in the same category.

The Business Law Team of the Year award also saw HCR Hewitsons highly commended for their work – highlighting their market-leading approach to business, from start-up to scale-up and beyond.

As a full-service firm, the team can call on expertise from a wide range of specialists, from those in Corporate and Commercial to Restructuring and Insolvency, and Employment and Immigration in order to provide a holistic service to businesses across the region.

The multiple wins followed the firm’s Impact55 initiative – a programme for Cambridgeshire-based start-ups who are using technology to create a positive social or environmental change.
