Daisy Darrell

Legal Director

Why choose me

I help clients make the most of their land, navigate change and overcome the challenges that come with owning and managing rural property.

Having grown up in Norfolk and now living in Suffolk, I’m passionate about supporting rural businesses and communities. I understand the unique opportunities and challenges facing landowners, farmers and rural estates.

I advise landowners, farming businesses and institutions across the country on a wide range of rural property matters. My expertise includes farm and estate acquisitions and disposals, natural capital projects – including biodiversity net gain, carbon and nutrient neutrality schemes – and equestrian property matters.

I also regularly advise on agricultural holdings, farm business tenancies, refinancing and secured lending, estate management and farm diversification projects.

Clients can expect a personal service and practical, commercially focused advice tailored to their circumstances and delivered in a clear and concise way. I take the time to understand their wider objectives, not just the legal issue at hand, and work closely with their other professional advisers to achieve the best possible outcome.

By building lasting relationships and being readily available when opportunities or challenges arise, I act as a trusted adviser who helps clients focus on their businesses and long-term goals.

Outside work, I enjoy cooking, gardening and keeping active.

Questions my clients ask me

Potentially, yes. Opportunities may include biodiversity net gain projects, carbon sequestration and nutrient neutrality schemes, as well as other environmental initiatives. Every landholding is different, so it’s important to take the right tax advice and consider the wider legal implications before committing to a scheme.

Landowners may be able to unlock value through strategic land arrangements or diversification projects, including renewable energy and natural capital schemes. The right option will depend on your objectives and the characteristics of the land itself, so seeking advice at an early stage is essential.
