Laura Upshall

Head of Residential (ACILEx), Thames Valley Real Estate

About me

My father ran his own estate agents for many years so I had an interest in property from an early age. I now have over 20 years’ experience in property law and I’m as enthusiastic today as the day I started out. During that time, I’ve been involved in many different types of transactions, and have met some wonderful clients who have gone on to recommend me to their friends and family.

I make buying and selling houses as exciting, enjoyable and stress-free for you as possible. I treat each transaction as if it were my own, so I’ll work in the way that’s best for you.

I also work with property developers to bring sites to market and the subsequent plot sales. I’ll assess your requirements early on, so I have a complete understanding of what you may need during a sale or purchase.

Laughter is my fuel and my main passion in life is being surrounded by happy and positive people. I enjoy socialising with friends, family and colleagues and like seeing them succeed in their own personal goals and challenges.

Care and support for sale of family home

Grace needed support, and somebody that she could trust, when it came to selling her home which she had lived in for over 40 years. The sale was highly emotional for her – her husband had died and she had moved out of the family home into a care home.

Her family home was very important to her, and Grace was happy to receive the care and attention that Laura Upshall, Head of Residential Real Estate in Thames Valley, gave her through the process.

Laura visited her in the care home with her family, not only to discuss the sale of her home, but also to chat about the happy memories of her time there with her late husband.

Grace was delighted that she didn’t have the stress of travelling to the office and even more so when Laura returned to her care home to finalise the process of selling her home.

She said: “Thank you for all your help on this, Laura, and for making it so stress free.”

I can’t come into the office, can you come and see me instead?

Yes, of course – get the kettle on!

When will I be able to move into my new home?

This very much depends on the other people involved in the transaction.  However, let’s get a target date and I’ll let the other parties know, so we can all work towards it.

Do you keep in touch with the estate agents?

Yes – transparency is extremely important. By working together, we can get what our clients want.
