Why choose me
I help affordable housing providers develop new homes by making sure the legal paperwork is clear, correct and doesn’t get in the way of people moving in.
With more than a decade of experience in the social housing sector, I combine planning expertise with hands-on development and housing association experience to help affordable housing schemes progress from the early planning stages through to delivery.
Having worked in both private practice and the housing association sector, I understand not only the legal side of development but also the commercial realities and operational pressures registered providers face.
I advise on section 106 agreements and deeds of variation, shared ownership site set-ups, plot sales, staircasing, infrastructure agreements and single-unit acquisitions and disposals, including auction sales and statutory disposals under Right to Buy and Right to Acquire.
I enjoy working with organisations that make a tangible social impact through housing and am committed to helping them deliver high-quality, affordable homes. I take a practical approach, spotting potential issues early and helping clients find solutions before they become problems.
Whether I’m working with developers, registered providers or local authorities, I focus on providing clear, commercially focused advice that helps keep projects moving.
Outside work, my young family keeps me busy and grounded. I also serve my local community as a parish councillor.

Questions my clients ask me
Every agreement and development is different. I’ll outline the process, the likelihood of success, the evidence that may be required and the typical timescales for local planning authority approval.
This depends on a range of factors, including buyers’ mortgage requirements, conveyancer enquiries and whether any conditions need to be satisfied before exchange or completion. I help clients keep the process moving through early pack preparation, clear instructions and proactive communication.
I’ll guide you through the process, including valuation requirements, lender involvement and the relevant lease provisions. I can also advise on any restrictions that may apply, such as capped staircasing arrangements or rural protections, and explain what this means for the registered provider’s retained equity.
