HCR advises on £35m sale to waste giant

HCR’s corporate team, led by Rachel Turner, advised the shareholders of Camo Ltd, trading as Simply Waste Solutions, on its sale to leading integrated waste management company, Biffa Plc, for £35m.

Simply Waste, based in High Wycombe, Berkshire, with depots in London and Bristol, is the leading provider of recycling and waste management services in London and the South East of England.

James Capel, majority shareholder of Camo Ltd, said of the deal: “Simply Waste is a fast growing and innovative business with its people and customers at the heart of everything it does.

“I am delighted that the acquisition of Simply Waste by Biffa will build on these values and that the combined business will help deliver an even stronger and more efficient business.”

He was full of praise for Rachel and the team, telling them: “Thank you – you have all been an absolute pleasure to deal with.  Natalie and I are so pleased with the outcome here and your support throughout has been nothing short of amazing.”

Rachel said: “We knew immediately that working with James and Natalie would be easy – unusually, it felt like they were part of the legal team rather than the other way round, which was down to their knowledge of the process and understanding of the legal documents.  They have created an amazing business in Simply Waste, which will certainly further cement Biffa’s position in the market.”
