Taking on the Grand Canyon (virtually) for hospice

24th June 2020

Tackling the Grand Canyon (virtually) in aid of Longfield Hospice in Gloucestershire is the latest in our education team’s 50 Acts of Kindness campaign to mark their 50 years’ advising schools.

Eight team members will each cover 75 miles before 20 July – they can walk, run or cycle and they can even track themselves on the Grand Canyon trails and enjoy the views on Google Street View.

The hospice, an HCR client, cares for people with life-limiting illnesses and for their families and carers, offering counselling and support, care at home and a variety of services for the community.

Krissy Scott, who may well be completing some of her 75 miles with her dog Toby, said: “We really want to put our best feet forward for the hospice – they have faced additional  challenges because of the Covid-19 pandemic and their service is really vital for the community. Since we can’t actually go to the Grand Canyon right now, this is a good substitute and for such a good cause.”

The team has set up a fundraising page and would be delighted if you could contribute for the hospice.
