Turning the traditional legal charging model on its head, HCR Flex is used to supplement or complement in-house counsel, or as an alternative to in-house counsel, giving clients the commercial legal expertise they need when they need it, while allowing clients to control costs.

Alison Sear, Canterbury Christ Church University Solicitor and Clerk to the Governing Body has shared her experience of HCR Flex and the expertise of Partner, Rebecca Quinn.

“Our University legal team needed flexible legal resource and UniFlex gives us exactly what we need. It’s been absolutely fantastic.

“Rebecca’s higher education expertise has been invaluable, as has the expertise of her colleagues in other legal specialisms. We appreciate the commercial approach of ‘our’ UniFlex team – their ability to see things from our perspective rather than from a purely legal standpoint has been very important.

“I also appreciate the flexibility and responsiveness of the service. Our arrangement is for a set number of hours a week, but they aren’t on a particular day. It means we can reach out at short notice and there are no bottlenecks in turning matters around.

Finally, I should highlight the value for money of the service. University legal budgets are always restricted to ensure we can focus funds on delivering maximum value for money to students. UniFlex gives us an exceptional quality of support for an affordable price.”
