Providing support to local charities is extremely important to HCR Law. Alongside supporting their charity of the year – Be More Frank – with fundraising events, the Hereford office provide vital volunteering time to other local charities. The office has kick started their latest corporate social responsibility drive by visiting the Little Princess Trust at their purpose built Hannah Tarplee Building, just a stone’s throw away from our Hereford office.

The Little Princess Trust aim to give ‘Hair and Hope’ to every child and young person with cancer and offer a free real hair wig to those experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment.

During a visit to their office, HCR staff were given a tour of their fantastic facilities. They learnt about the journey of the charity and the process of making a real hair wig from receiving hair donations right through to the fitting of the wig at their in-house salon. They were lucky enough to see one of the UK wig makers at work.

We were then put to work with one of two tasks. The first included sorting through hair donations received in the post – measuring the donation and matching it to the relevant colour sample to ensure hair of similar colours were put together. The second task involved collating vital fundraising packs to be sent out to those who were kindly fundraising for the charity. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were over the moon to be able to help such an uplifting and positive cause.

The support for Little Princess Trust does not stop there. Two of our colleagues, Ellie Whittington and Samantha Chambers, took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 6 October 2024 in aid of the charity. Not only were funds raised for the charity but Samantha went the extra mile in donating 11 inches of her hair to the charity too!
