A specialist care provider instructed HCR Law to recover unpaid care fees and the cost of equipment that was damaged during a service user’s placement, seeking swift legal action to prevent the debt escalating further.

Our Healthcare team responded promptly, conducting a thorough review of the client’s contract, pertinent documentation and previous correspondence with the debtor (commissioner). This enabled us to clearly establish the basis and value of the claim.

Drawing on our extensive experience recovering unpaid sums for care providers, we prepared and issued a comprehensive pre-action letter to the commissioner. Following this single letter, the principal debt was paid in full. The client also recovered statutory interest and compensation on the debt for late payment, as well as 100% of the legal costs incurred in pursuing the claim, bringing the total amount to £45,921.36.

By acting quickly, we avoided protracted pre-action correspondence and litigation, securing a complete recovery of the debt and associated costs for our client and providing financial certainty and reassurance.
