Meet the Family Law team – Andrew Morris

Today we introduce you to Andrew Morris, Partner in our Family Law team. He tells us about what first attracted him to a career in law, his number one tip for clients and his secretarial qualifications.

What first attracted you to a career in law?

My original plan was to work in sports management. I was told to work for someone like IMG you needed either to have secretarial skills, be an accountant or a lawyer. I got my secretarial qualifications but that didn’t work so I decided to become a lawyer.

What type of legal advice do you provide and to what sorts of client?

My clients are likely to be anyone who needs help with their divorce or resolving children disputes. I also help families across borders and those with unusual or complex asset structures. I don’t just focus on business owners; I’ve worked with businesses like Microsoft and Disney, too.

What is your most memorable legal experience and why?

When my client under cross examination declared that she was hiding £30,000 in cash under her bed, unbeknownst to me.

What is your number one top tip for clients?

Never give up work. It has a serious impact on how income needs are met if you divorce in the future.
