Lauren Powell-Bateson

Solicitor

Why choose me

Clients going through potentially complex family matters, which can be a challenging and emotional time, need trust, empathy and honesty. My role as a family lawyer is to guide and advise you throughout this difficult chapter.

I advise clients on a broad range of family law matters including divorce and financial remedy, children matters and pre-nuptial/post-nuptial agreements. Every individual is different, but I will work hard to reach a resolution in your matter so that you can look to the future.

Outside work, I like to spend quality time with family and friends. I also enjoy being active, whether that is a gym class or a long outdoor walk.

Questions my clients ask me

Not necessarily. This will depend on whether the parties are able to reach an agreement without the intervention of the court, which is generally advisable. Where parties can reach an agreement, costs incurred are also likely to be considerably lower.

Each matter is different and the best approach is often subjective, depending on the circumstances of your case. Your legal advisor will advise you on the options available to you and walk you through the next steps.

It is difficult to estimate precisely what the costs involved in a matter will be. This usually depends on factors such as how contentious the matter is, how long it is ongoing for, and how complex it is. Where parties cannot agree and go to court, this will increase costs. We will always give a cost estimate at the outset of your matter and provide regular updates throughout.
