Legal advice throughout professional body investigations

We’re on hand throughout every stage of a fitness to practise investigation and can assist with the following:

• Advising and drafting a declaration to your regulator
• Drafting representations to case examiners or the investigating committee
• Drafting termination of referral applications or voluntary removal/voluntary erasure applications
• Advising and assisting with agreed panel disposal or consensual panel determinations proposed by the regulator
• Assisting and conducting advocacy in connection with interim orders, registration appeals and restoration hearings
• Advising and assisting with restoration and substantive fitness to practise hearings
• Advising and assisting with appeals brought against a regulator in the High Court and appeals brought by the Professional Standards Authority.

We work with professionals facing fitness to practise investigations brought by regulatory bodies including the General Medical Council (GMC), General Dental Council (GDC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), General Optical Council (GOC), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), General Chiropractic Council (GCC), General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and Social Work England (SWE).

We also work with professionals on Voluntary Accredited registers such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).
