Companies House paper reminders – a thing of the past?

10 January 2021

Companies House announced that they will no longer be sending paper reminders to businesses.

Companies House has stated that stopping the paper reminder letters will save them around £1.2m each year, allowing them to reinvest more money in their products and services. They have also said that their ultimate aim, by terminating the paper service, is to be more efficient and be able to improve customer experience.

All companies are being contacted via post, in the form of a letter which explains that the paper service has stopped, as well as detailing plans as to how the cost savings will be reinvested.

Companies House are recommending that businesses sign up to their email reminder service. Up to four email addresses can be logged on to the Companies House system to receive reminders, one of which can be your legal advisers.

We offer a range of company secretarial services, including registered office services and safe storage of your statutory books and would be happy to receive reminders for you. If this is something that could benefit your business, please contact Alison Scott for more information.
