Successful auction of farm land after Partner’s tenacity

Emily Pumfrey, Partner in the Agriculture and Estates team, recently prepared two lots of unregistered farm land for sale by auction subject to overage. The seller contacted her following a recommendation from the auctioneer to ensure they could share in any future development potential  via a “clawback” arrangement.

Emily helped the client collate their farm ownership and present it in the most favourable way to attract bidders. Post-auction, the buyer failed to complete on time, so Emily also handled enforcing completion and eventually securing the sale.

Following this, her client said: “For me personally it was very reassuring to have such a capable and knowledgeable professional on our side who was also so helpful and approachable.”
