Family team is ‘one to watch’

HCR’s Family team has been ranked across four different regions and noted as ‘one to watch’ in Northampton, in the 2023 edition of The Legal 500 UK. Appearing in bands 1-3 for Birmingham, West Midlands, South West and Wales, the team’s experts are also highly praised for their knowledge, client care and “phenomenal work ethic”. Roopa Ahluwalia and Andrew Caldicott are listed as leading individuals and Richard Scott is named in the next generation partners list.

In Birmingham, the team is noted as ‘the region’s market leader’ and as ‘a first class team without a shadow of a doubt’. Victoria Fellows and Hayley McCormack also feature for their ‘substantial experience’. James Grigg is head of the firm’s Family law team and, along with Carolyn Green are also commended by clients as being ‘experts in their field’ and for ‘always putting clients first.’ Family Partner is commended by clients for her “Very good personal attention with excellent back up” and clients say Andrew Caldicott is ‘an excellent lawyer’.

The legal directory specifically mentions new Partner Sally Robinson as a ‘significant new addition to the team’.

The rankings further cement the team’s position as one of the UK’s biggest and most experienced family law teams since merging with Hewitsons in 2021 and now has family law experts across all locations. This year alone the team has made five strategic partner hires across the firm, further bolstering its number of family law specialists.

The firm as a whole received 44 Tier 1 – 3 rankings. The Legal 500 seeks testimonials from clients.
