Join us at our annual conference on issues affecting older and vulnerable people.

This year, we are tackling what happens when things go wrong. From tracing misappropriated funds and finding creative routes to recover lost assets, to managing cases where families fracture and circumstances spiral, this conference is built around real challenges faced in practice.

Whether you are a deputy, attorney, case manager, social care professional, adviser or lawyer, you will come away with practical tools for responding effectively when difficult cases arise - navigating the grey area where welfare meets financial responsibility, handling challenging family dynamics and recovering assets lost to financial abuse.

Our speakers on the day include:

  • Helen Gregory, Opus Advisory Group - drawing on her work as an expert witness, Helen will take us through how forensic accounting is used to trace misappropriated assets.
  • Dafydd Jones, Case Manager, Westcountry Case Management - Dafydd will share his experience of navigating tricky cases and walking the fine line between welfare and financial management.
  • Faye Collinson, Barrister, Kings Chambers - Faye will bring us up to date with the latest developments in Court of Protection case law.
  • Andrew Tovey, Deputy Head of Investigations, Office of the Public Guardian - Andrew will share his insights into OPG investigations and how we can support with safeguarding referrals.

Ticket includes refreshments throughout the day, conference pack and hot and cold buffet lunch.
